With over thirty years of experience as a market research professional, Mark D. Wolf serves as the Director of the Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute, an intellectual resource devoted to better understanding America’s small business owners. In this capacity, he oversees a ground-breaking research initiative – the Guardian Life Index: What Matters Most to America’s Small Business Owners –with the goal of developing deep knowledge, insights and wisdom about small business owners and the businesses they build.

As Director, Market Research for Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Mr. Wolf provides guidance and support to all divisions of the company regarding new product development and testing, customer loyalty/service delivery, market segmentation, and wholesale/retail distribution.

Mr. Wolf has broad experience in market research having worked for Fortune 500 companies, advertising agencies and research firms across a wide array of industry sectors and product categories. Prior employers include BP Lubricants, Prudential Insurance, Verizon Wireless, Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, Ogilvy Advertising, Young & Rubicam Advertising and Simmons Market Research Bureau. Most of the prior employers served the small business market and Wolf was directly responsible for primary and secondary research with small business owners.

He is currently the chair of the ANA Research Committee and a member of the National Advertising Review Board panel of advertisers who hear appeals on cases decided by the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau. He has also served as a Judge for the David Oglivy Research Awards administered by the Advertising Research Foundation.

Mr. Wolf is certified as a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Professional Researcher by the Market Research Association. He recently received a Certificate in Coaching from New York University.
