Patricia G. Greene, Ph.D., MBA, Named Special Academic Advisor To The Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute

NEW YORK (June 17, 2010)The Guardian Life Small Business Research Institute today announced that Patricia G. Greene, Ph.D., MBA, will serve as its Special Academic Advisor. Dr. Greene, the F.W. Olin Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurship at Babson College, will help shape The Institute’s research agenda and guide future activities in line with its mission to develop deeper knowledge, insights and wisdom about small business owners and the businesses they build.

At Babson, Dr. Greene has served as Provost and Dean of the Undergraduate School. Previously she held the Ewing Marion Kauffman/Missouri Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and the New Jersey Chair of Small Business and Entrepreneurship at Rutgers University.

“Professor Greene has tremendous expertise in the field of entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of business owners’ needs. We are delighted to have the benefits of her knowledge and insights, and look forward to her contributions as we continue efforts to expand our knowledge of small business owners,” said Mark D. Dr. Greene is co-founder of the Diana Project, a research group focusing on women and the venture capital industry. Her current research focuses on the identification, acquisition and combination of entrepreneurial resources, particularly by women and minority entrepreneurs. She also serves on the national advisory boards for the SBA’s Small Business Development Centers and the Center for Women’s Business Research.
